Bhopal/New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) – Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the forthcoming Rajya Sabha elections, notably including the party President, Nitin Nabin, representing Bihar.

In response to the party's decision to nominate BJP President Nabin and others for the Rajya Sabha, Yadav remarked that their involvement will significantly further the advancement of national interests.

“My warmest congratulations and best wishes to BJP President Nitin Nabin and all the distinguished nominees for the Rajya Sabha. I am entirely confident that your esteemed presence in the Rajya Sabha will further promote national interests,” the Chief Minister expressed on the social media platform X.

Madhya Pradesh BJP President Hemant Khandelwal also offered his congratulations to Nabin and the other nominees for their selection in the Rajya Sabha elections.

“I extend my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for success to the respected BJP President Nitin Nabin, who has been nominated by the Central Election Committee of the BJP for the biennial Rajya Sabha elections from Bihar,” Khandelwal stated on X.

On Tuesday, the BJP’s central committee released a list of nine candidates for the Rajya Sabha elections, including the party President Nabin from Bihar, along with former West Bengal unit Chief Rahul Sinha and Chhattisgarh unit Vice-President Laxmi Verma from their respective states.

Additionally, Assam Public Works Department Minister Jogen Mohan and BJP MLA Terash Gowalla will represent the party from Assam in the Upper House elections.

The BJP has also put forth its Odisha unit President Manmohan Samal and party leader Sujeet Kumar, who currently serves as a Rajya Sabha MP, as candidates from Odisha for the upcoming elections.

Furthermore, BJP leader Shivesh Kumar will contest from Bihar, and Sanjay Bhatia, a former BJP Lok Sabha MP, will be the party's candidate from Haryana.

Shivesh Kumar is presently the General Secretary of the Bihar BJP.

The names of these candidates have received approval from the party's central election committee, as confirmed by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh.

According to a press note from the Election Commission dated February 18, notifications were set to be released on February 26.

The final date for submitting nominations is March 5, followed by scrutiny on March 6. Candidates may withdraw their nominations until March 9.

Voting is scheduled for March 16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The counting of votes will commence at 5 p.m. on March 16, with the election process expected to conclude by March 20.
