Yogi Adityanath Expresses Appreciation to PM Modi Following Release of ₹1,050 Crore for Maha Kumbh

Lucknow, Dec 4 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the Centre's release of the first tranche of ₹1,050 crore from a total grant of ₹2,100 crore intended for the upcoming Maha Kumbh.
On Tuesday, Chief Minister Adityanath remarked that under the effective leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the "double-engine" government is committed to elevating the world's largest cultural and spiritual event -- 'Prayagraj Mahakumbh-2025' -- to a divine and magnificent experience.
Adityanath stated, "In this series, special grant assistance of ₹2,100 crore was sanctioned by the Central government, out of which the first installment of ₹1,050 crore has been released today. This backing from the Central government will assist in achieving a clean, safe, and well-organized Mahakumbh for the devotees," in a post on Tuesday via X.
He further added, "Sincere thanks to the Prime Minister for this contribution, which aids in realizing the vision of a divine-grand-digital Mahakumbh."
The Maha Kumbh takes place every 12 years and is set to occur in Prayagraj from January 13 to February 26. Official estimates suggest that approximately 45 crore visitors are expected to attend this gathering.
An official announcement indicated that the central grant was made following a special request from the Uttar Pradesh government for one-time financial support to guarantee the event's safe and successful organization.
The state government has earmarked ₹5,435.68 crore for the Maha Kumbh 2025, with this budget allocated across 421 projects to ensure a world-class experience. So far, ₹3,461.99 crore has received approval for financial execution.
Additionally, ₹1,636 crore is being allocated to 125 projects through budgets from crucial departments, including Public Works Department, Housing and Urban Planning, Bridge Corporation, Tourism, Irrigation, and Prayagraj Municipal Corporation.
The initiatives encompass infrastructure enhancements such as the development and fortification of roads, railway overbridges, underpasses, riverbank erosion control, interlocking roadways, riverfront development, and beautification of major intersections following a theme-based strategy.
Prayagraj is also being developed into a premier smart city through the collaboration of Smart City projects and the Prayagraj Development Authority. IT-based monitoring systems and facilities for clean drinking water are being set up for pilgrims, as per the statement.
Efforts under the Swachh Bharat Mission and the Prayagraj Municipal Corporation are ensuring superior sanitation and cleanliness. Systems for solid waste management and complete sewage treatment coverage are also being established.
