In an interview with IANS, Saxena stated, “The government has embraced our ideas within the budget.”
Reflecting on his experience at the national event, he shared, “This was a monumental moment for me, as I represented the voices of 50 young leaders from all over the nation and conveyed our collective ideas to the Prime Minister as part of the Viksit Bharat initiative.”
He emphasized that the initiative has bolstered the involvement of young citizens in shaping policies that align with India’s long-term developmental vision.
“Our commitment is to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The fact that our ideas were acknowledged brought us immense pride,” Saxena remarked.
Saxena further highlighted, “This is the first occasion where youth voices have been acknowledged on such a substantial platform and incorporated directly into the budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that this is a youth-driven budget, and I am grateful to her and the Prime Minister for this recognition.”
The Viksit Bharat Young Leaders’ Dialogue 2026 was held in New Delhi from January 9 to January 12, attracting around 3,000 young leaders from various regions of the country.
Throughout this multi-day event, participants engaged in digital quizzes, essay contests, and policy presentations.
Several recommendations that emerged from these activities were subsequently integrated into national policy discussions and the framework of the Union Budget.
Both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Sitharaman have emphasized that the Union Budget 2026–27 aims to address the aspirations of India’s youth by converting the dialogue outcomes into actionable policy measures.
Moreover, the government has reiterated that the budget intends to create opportunities for young Indians while furthering the overarching objective of establishing a Viksit and Atmairbhar Bharat.
