Amaravati, March 12 (NationPress) YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) commemorated its formation day on Wednesday, with its leader and former chief minister Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy declaring that it serves as the voice for the voiceless.
In his address during the celebrations at the party headquarters, he emphasized that the YSRCP emerged from a history of struggle and noted that fighting against injustice is not a new endeavor for the party.
He highlighted that in the 15 years since the party's inception, it spent 10 years in opposition, tirelessly advocating for the populace.
“The party was in opposition for a decade, drawing attention to the failures of previous governments. Being in opposition is not unfamiliar territory,” he remarked.
Despite losing power to the TDP-led coalition last year, Jagan expressed confidence that the YSRCP would reclaim power in the upcoming elections.
Extending gratitude to the party volunteers for their unwavering support, Jagan pointed out that on formation day, the YSRCP was also staging protests against the coalition government for failing to disburse fees reimbursement dues, which have severely affected students.
The former chief minister stated that the coalition is expected to clear approximately Rs 7,100 crore in dues for two years concerning Vidyasree and Vidya Vasathi but is neglecting this responsibility. He criticized the government for allocating a mere Rs 2,600 crore, jeopardizing students’ futures. On this day, YSRCP, representing the people's voice, took up this issue alongside students and parents.
Jagan accused the coalition government of failing across various sectors. Farmers, women, youth, and all demographics feel deceived as the Super Six promises made during the elections remain unfulfilled. He pointed out that education, health, agriculture, and governance have deteriorated in the past 10 months.
He stated that unlike the coalition, the YSRCP volunteers can confidently visit any household, as they are welcomed due to the government’s commitment to welfare delivered transparently, following a clear welfare calendar.
Earlier, Jagan Mohan Reddy offered floral tributes to Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy and raised the party flag.
He reiterated that the YSRCP was established to advance the welfare agenda of Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He expressed gratitude to the party's supporters throughout the 15-year journey.
Jagan mentioned that the YSRCP, which began alongside him, has faced numerous challenges but has persevered. “Once in power, we initiated welfare and development agendas like no other state has in the country, enhancing the living standards of the people while ensuring sustainable economic development,” he shared on X.
Claiming that YSRCP has honored all its electoral commitments, Jagan asserted that it is synonymous with credibility.
