How Did the Adani Foundation and Adani Electricity Create a Unique Air Travel Experience for ‘Swabhimaan’ Beneficiaries?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Dec 31 (NationPress) In a groundbreaking initiative, the Adani Foundation partnered with Adani Electricity to offer an unprecedented air travel experience to over 64 beneficiaries, including women from the ‘Swabhimaan’ project, students from the Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) in Kosbad-Dahanu, retired military personnel, senior citizens from nearby Navi Mumbai villages, health workers, and drawing competition winners, coinciding with the commercial launch of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) this month.
A standout moment of the day was the opportunity for attendees to meet Dr. Priti Adani, Chairperson of the Adani Foundation, and Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, personally.
Many of those who participated are beneficiaries of Project Swabhimaan and the Adani Skill Development initiatives, which are key CSR programs supported collaboratively by Adani Electricity, NMIAL, Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station (ADTPS), and the Adani Foundation.
“Flying during the commercial launch of the Navi Mumbai International Airport was a source of immense pride. Witnessing the panoramic view of Alibaug and Mumbai from 11,600 feet was surreal—like living in a cinematic experience,” expressed Harshada Gadekar, a beneficiary of the Swabhimaan project.
“The highlight was the incredible privilege of meeting Gautam Adani and Dr. Priti Adani. Their kindness made us feel genuinely appreciated. Today, we don’t just feel like beneficiaries; we feel special,” Gadekar added.
Ajit Dhadga, a student at the Adani Skill Development Center, expressed his enthusiasm: "Being close to the Adani Dahanu Thermal Power Station, I’ve always been curious about large-scale operations. This visit has elevated my aspirations. Observing the flight deck and the boarding procedure firsthand has made aviation feel attainable. This day will motivate my future career.”
Since its inception in 2022, Swabhimaan has made remarkable progress in empowering women and generating livelihoods by offering Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDP) to women from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“At the Adani Foundation, we believe that true empowerment transcends mere livelihood; it encompasses dignity and the opening of new doors to opportunities. This initiative is our message to beneficiaries that their aspirations matter,” stated a spokesperson from the Adani Foundation.
A spokesperson from Adani Electricity remarked, “Empowering lives is not just about providing electricity; it’s about lighting the way to progress.”
“We take pride in connecting marginalized communities with the modern infrastructure they contribute to. Witnessing the joy of our Swabhimaan partners as they soared through the skies reinforces our commitment to being a partner in India’s growth narrative,” the spokesperson added.
The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) commenced commercial operations on December 25—signifying a pivotal advancement for Mumbai’s aviation industry and India’s infrastructure development.
