Navi Mumbai International Airport to Emerge as a Premier 'Gateway to Goodness': Jeet Adani

Mumbai, Dec 29 (NationPress) Jeet Adani, Director of Airports for the Adani Group, announced a crucial achievement with Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) successfully completing its inaugural commercial validation flight featuring the landing of an IndiGo Airlines A320 aircraft, marking a significant step towards making the greenfield airport operational by early 2025.
"A historic milestone as Navi Mumbai International Airport welcomed its first commercial validation flight! Proud of our team's hard work and thankful for our stakeholders' steadfast support. Together, we are crafting a world-class Gateway to Goodness!" stated Jeet Adani in a message posted on X.
This validation flight was observed by senior officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), the Airports Authority of India (AAI), and Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), highlighting the airport's compliance with international aviation standards.
The landing of a commercial aircraft confirms and establishes the coordinated operation of Instrument Approach Procedures at NMIA. This process includes a technical evaluation, as well as landing and take-off maneuvers that the DGCA considers to validate the data obtained from the flight, which is essential for NMIA to obtain the aerodrome license required for airport operations.
Following the successful touchdown, the flight procedures at NMIA will be published in the Electronic Aeronautical Information Publication (eAIP) for international dissemination.
Previously, NMIA successfully executed the flight calibration of the Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Precision Approach Path Indicator (PAPI), subsequently drafting instrument approach procedures in preparation for the validation flight.
