Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 18 (NationPress) A recent report reveals that Bengaluru and Delhi-NCR collectively represent over 50% of job opportunities in Artificial Intelligence across India, with Bengaluru contributing a notable 25.4% share. The analysis conducted by CBRE South Asia Private Limited examined more than 64,500 active job postings on Naukri.com as of December 2025, showing Delhi-NCR at 24.8% and Mumbai at 19.2%.
These three metropolitan areas together account for nearly 70% of all AI-related job openings nationwide, as noted in the report.
The top three sectors fueling AI recruitment include Engineering (Software & Quality Assurance), Data Science & Analytics, and Customer Success, Service & Operations.
This growth underscores the significant role of AI in both core development and front-end business operations, according to the firm.
The report emphasizes, “India is not merely developing AI code but is also at the forefront of its global implementation and service provisioning.”
The increasing demand for AI professionals is paralleled by a record surge in office space leasing, with Bengaluru leading in 2025 office absorption at 26%, totaling 82.6 million square feet. Bengaluru has also captured over one-third of the nation’s total GCC leasing activity.
In contrast to cities primarily focused on IT, Delhi-NCR experiences robust AI demand driven by a diverse mix of sectors, including consulting, fintech, healthcare, and public-sector initiatives.
Anshuman Magazine, Chairman & CEO – India, South-East Asia, and MEA, CBRE, stated, “AI has evolved from a buzzword to a pivotal element in India’s broader economic and infrastructural advancement narrative.”
He further remarked, “The escalating demand for AI experts signifies more than just a job trend; it marks a fundamental shift in how global businesses perceive India—as a center for comprehensive innovation rather than merely a service provider. This transformation is poised to reshape the nation’s economic landscape and its role in the global digital value chain.”
