New Delhi, Feb 27 (NationPress) The Ayush initiative represents more than just a medical system; it embodies a movement for social change, rural empowerment, and global leadership in holistic health, stated Ayush Minister Prataprao Jadhav on Friday.
During his address at the 'National Arogya Fair 2026' in Shegaon, Buldhana district, Maharashtra, Jadhav highlighted the increasing significance of Ayush in tackling lifestyle-related health issues.
He encouraged individuals to adopt disciplined routines, including early sleep and early rising, as a strategy to manage conditions such as diabetes and hypertension.
The Minister emphasized the need for preventive healthcare and urged the use of simple Ayurvedic home remedies based on traditional knowledge, pointing to the widely recognized concept of “Aaji Bai ka Batua” as a cost-effective and practical approach for self-care at the village level.
Jadhav also underscored the necessity of structured market linkages, quality standards, and institutional support to position India as a trustworthy global supplier of raw materials from medicinal plants.
The Ministry’s pavilion includes contributions from its Research Councils, National Institutes, and the National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), showcasing various achievements in research, academic initiatives, clinical services, public health programs, and evidence-based advancements across Ayush systems.
According to an official statement, a comprehensive range of physical and digital Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials is being distributed to raise awareness about flagship initiatives, research findings, and public health outreach.
Interactive digital displays and exhibitions focusing on medicinal plants and herbal products are attracting visitors from diverse demographics.
The statement further mentioned that free medical consultations are available from qualified practitioners in Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Sowa-Rigpa, and Homeopathy.
“An exclusive Ayush Aahaar segment is promoting region-specific, nutritionally balanced dietary habits based on Ayush principles, highlighting the essential role of diet in preventive healthcare and overall wellness,” it noted.
The fair has become a key platform for direct interaction among citizens, healthcare providers, farmers, and industry stakeholders.
