Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) on Monday, 8 June 2026 confirmed that petrol, diesel, CNG, and LPG supplies across Delhi remain fully uninterrupted, backed by steady growth in fuel demand during May 2026. The state-owned oil marketing company said its supply chain and retail network are operating normally, with no disruption to consumers, businesses, transport operators, or essential services.

Petrol and Diesel Sales Growth

Petrol sales in Delhi crossed 27,800 metric tonnes (MT) in May 2026, up from over 27,100 MT in the same month last year — a growth of approximately 2.5 per cent. Diesel sales also rose, reaching over 16,500 MT against more than 16,100 MT in May 2025, reflecting growth of around 2.9 per cent. BPCL attributed the uptick to expanding commercial operations and rising mobility across the capital.

CNG Supply Meets Delhi's Clean Mobility Push

BPCL supplied over 33,400 MT of CNG during May, catering to Delhi's public transport network, commercial vehicle fleets, and the growing adoption of cleaner mobility solutions. The volume underscores Delhi's accelerating shift toward compressed natural gas as a primary transport fuel, driven by regulatory mandates and fleet conversions.

LPG Distribution Remains Steady

On the domestic cooking fuel front, BPCL distributed over 7.7 lakh domestic LPG cylinders in May, along with more than 18,000 commercial LPG cylinders and over 22,000 FTL LPG cylinders. The company said sustained LPG demand reflects continued residential and commercial energy requirements across the national capital.

The company added that regular product movement, inventory management, and coordinated logistics underpin the stability of its fuel stations and LPG distribution network.
