New Delhi, Feb 10 (NationPress) The government is dedicated to promoting the advancement of Unani medicine across India, expressed Prataprao Jadhav, the Union Minister of State, (I/C) Ministry of Ayush, on Monday, in anticipation of Unani Day. Every year, February 11 commemorates Unani Day, celebrating the birth anniversary of distinguished Unani physician, educator, and freedom fighter Hakim Ajmal Khan.
To mark this occasion, the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM), a leading research body under the Ministry of Ayush, is organizing the International Conference themed "Innovations in Unani Medicine for Integrative Health Solutions - A Way Forward".
This two-day event, taking place from February 11-12 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, will be inaugurated by President Droupadi Murmu on the following day.
"I am honored to see the increasing integration of Unani medicine into the global healthcare system. Through fostering innovation and collaboration, we aspire to deliver comprehensive healthcare solutions that respect our traditional practices while tackling contemporary health issues," stated Jadhav, emphasizing the growth of the Unani system.
“The government remains devoted to enhancing Unani medicine, ensuring it plays a significant role in public welfare and the overall health of the global community," he added.
On a related note, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary of the Ministry of Ayush, emphasized the government’s focus on enhancing scientific research within the Ayush systems.
“The creation of research centers in the Ayush sector, the incorporation of Ayush into mainstream health policies, and the integration of traditional systems into the larger health framework showcase India’s commitment to preserving and promoting our cultural heritage. This international conference aims to spotlight the latest advancements in Unani Medicine and their applicability in holistic health systems,” Kotecha remarked.
The International Conference will serve as a vibrant platform for discussion, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, aiming to underline the essential role of Unani medicine in enhancing global health and well-being.
