He explained how CERT-In employs AI-driven analytics and automation to effectively detect, prevent, and respond to cyber incidents in real-time, while also formulating countermeasures against malicious AI-driven attacks.
The discussion highlighted CERT-In's pivotal role in crisis management, vulnerability assessment, information sharing, and coordinated responses to cyber threats.
Dr. Bahl reiterated that CERT-In provides timely alerts and customized advisories to both organizations and citizens regarding emerging threats, ensuring proactive measures are taken without inducing unnecessary alarm.
As per the IT Ministry, the journalists were informed about CERT-In's ongoing drills, capacity-building projects, and international partnerships, including collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Agency for France (ANSSI).
Dr. Bahl mentioned that India experienced 147 ransomware incidents in 2024, noting that CERT-In's coordinated efforts significantly reduced their impact through real-time intelligence sharing and forensic interventions.
The session also highlighted CERT-In's initiatives for empaneling auditors, specialized training programs, and policy support for startups creating homegrown cybersecurity solutions.
According to the IT Ministry, through research collaborations, public-private partnerships, and participation in international forums, CERT-In is constructing a robust and trustworthy cyber defense framework aligned with the vision of Digital India.
