New Delhi, Feb 19 (NationPress) Alexandr Wang, the Chief AI Officer at Meta, announced on Thursday that the company plans to unveil new AI models this year, specifically designed to cater to local requirements in India and throughout the Global South.
"We are excited to launch new models this year, with the first set arriving in the upcoming months. These will be intricately woven into our products," Wang stated at the ‘India AI Impact Summit’ held here.
He articulated the company’s vision as aiming for “personal superintelligence”—an AI that comprehends an individual’s aspirations and aids them in achieving their goals.
"We are optimistic about our progress. The initial models will be impressive, and as the year progresses, we anticipate pushing the boundaries further," Wang mentioned.
He emphasized the need for collaboration between the public and private sectors to create AI systems that are customized to meet personal needs. “I don’t want these remarkable technologies to be generic. They should be crafted to address the unique challenges and opportunities that exist in India, the Global South, and beyond," Wang remarked.
Wang noted that India is home to exceptional developers creating innovative solutions to tackle significant societal issues.
"I want these amazing technologies to serve you as an individual, regardless of who you are, where you reside, the language you speak, or the culture you belong to," he added.
During the summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed global leaders and stated that AI signifies a transformation akin to the pivotal moments in human history. He noted that the current trends and predictions are just the beginning of AI's impact.
