“Historically, trade routes spanned from Gujarat to Europe via Petra. It is essential that we revive these ancient connections for our future prosperity,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
He reiterated Jordan's crucial role in establishing connections across regions, which can facilitate increased trade and investment between both countries.
“In my meeting with His Majesty yesterday, we thoroughly explored how to turn geography into opportunities and those opportunities into growth,” PM Modi added.
“Under your leadership, Jordan has become a bridge that is enhancing cooperation with various regions,” the Prime Minister highlighted.
Stressing the robust trade collaboration, PM Modi confirmed that India is currently Jordan’s third-largest trading partner.
Recalling historical trade connections, the Prime Minister noted that goods used to flow from Gujarat to Europe through Petra, asserting that revitalizing these links would bolster future prosperity.
