Hyderabad, March 31 (NationPress) – The Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) has successfully rescued a five-year-old girl and apprehended her cousin, who was involved in her sexual abuse.
On Tuesday, TGCSB Director Shikha Goel announced the arrest of a 19-year-old suspect in connection with a case of Child Sexual Exploitative and Abusive Material (CSEAM).
The case was uncovered after the Child Protection Unit (CPU) of TGCSB examined evidence obtained through the CSEAM tipline, revealing that the parents might be unaware of the ongoing abuse.
According to Goel, this marks the second instance in 2026 where TGCSB has successfully rescued a minor victim. The CCPS Headquarters of TGCSB managed to identify and apprehend the perpetrators in both cases.
"The heartbreaking reality is that in both situations, the offenders were familiar to the victims. In this current case, the perpetrator is the girl's own cousin brother, whom she affectionately refers to as bhayya," she stated.
The accused has been named as Mohammed Fahaad, a second-year college student residing in Chota Bazaar, Golkonda, Hyderabad.
Based on a thorough analysis of the video evidence shared via the tipline with the CPU, the TGCSB was able to pinpoint the suspect. Upon interrogation, he admitted to the abuse. Reports indicate that Fahaad frequently visited the victim's home and committed the offense while taking her to the terrace. The device used by the perpetrator has been seized and is undergoing a detailed digital forensic examination to uncover any additional CSEAM material and assist in further investigations.
A case has been filed under Section 67-8 of the IT Act and Sections 15, 3, and 4 of the POCSO Act, and the accused has been placed in judicial custody.
Goel confirmed that the rescued child is receiving essential support, and counselling services have been extended to her parents.
