Hyderabad, March 23 (NationPress) Australia and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Travis Head is thrilled about the progress of his opening partner Abhishek Sharma in international cricket and is eager to help establish a stronger base for the team in the IPL 2025 season.

Head was the top run-scorer for the franchise in the previous edition, racking up 567 runs that included four half-centuries and a century. Conversely, Abhishek closely followed him with 484 runs, featuring three fifties. He also showcased his talent for India on the international stage.

As they prepare for their season opener against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday, Head expressed his insights on the team’s synergy and atmosphere.

"It feels great to be back, we had some fantastic moments last year. I hope we can replicate that early momentum again this season. I’m excited about the fact that Abhi (Abhishek Sharma) has had an exceptional 12 months; he’s definitely improved since last year and has performed remarkably well internationally. I’m looking forward to backing him again, and I believe he’s set for another monumental year. I hope to begin well too. It’s all about maintaining the positive messaging we had last year—keeping a relaxed atmosphere and the understanding that any player could shine on a given day," he stated.

The Australian batsman emphasized that SRH does not depend on a single player but rather on collective team effort after finishing as runners-up last season.

"Pat (Cummins) and Dan (Vettori) bring a chilled-out vibe. There’s no pressure on any one individual; it’s a team achievement. We have plenty of experience with both bat and ball, so in these early stages, it’s crucial to achieve continuity and consistency. I’ve trained well over the last three days, but these matches are tough, and nothing is certain. Let’s hope we kick off strongly," Head added.
