Mumbai, May 10 (NationPress) Multiple-time World Champion, Pankaj Advani has secured his place for the Rs.5 lakh winner's prize with an impressive 8-2 victory over Himanshu Jain in the semifinals of the Rs 32 lakh prize NSCI Baulkline 4.0 All India Snooker Tournament held at the NSCI Dome on Saturday.
Advani showcased his prowess with three century-plus breaks, dominating a match in which Jain managed to win only two frames. The champion has been in the city for the CCI Billiards Classic, which he won against Dhruv Sitwala, and he has yet to feel any pressure during the snooker event at the venue in Worli.
In the second semifinal, Ishpreet Singh Chadha triumphed over Aditya Mehta with a close 8-6 win, setting the stage for a showdown with Advani, reminiscent of last year's final.
Earlier on Friday, Advani exhibited exceptional skill against Ketan Chawla, winning his quarterfinal match 7-1. In this best of 13 frames knockout match, Advani found his rhythm in the final four frames, achieving high breaks of 63, 82, 57, and 60 to secure a stylish victory at the NSCI Dome.
