London, April 22 (NationPress) Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson expresses his eagerness to return to the UEFA Champions League, asserting that his team has a strong opportunity to qualify for the upcoming season after their 2-1 victory over Spurs, which has allowed them to regain third place in the Premier League standings.

The first half saw goals from Elliot Anderson and Chris Wood, securing Nottingham Forest's inaugural win at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Spurs.

"I'm eager to be there once more. Playing in the Champions League was a significant moment for me, and honestly, I never anticipated participating in my first season away from Newcastle. However, if we maintain our current momentum and replicate our performance from this season, I believe we have a solid chance," Anderson stated on the Premier League website.

Entering Monday's encounter following two consecutive league losses, Forest bounced back to achieve their ninth away victory of the season, second only to Liverpool, who leads with eleven.

“It was crucial to get back on track and continue what we've been accomplishing all season. Everyone in the squad is thrilled about securing the three points.

“Quick starts are vital; we aimed to score first, which set a positive tone for the match. Obviously, Chris Wood's second goal was outstanding. It was primarily about maintaining our lead,” Anderson added.

With this win, Forest climbs back to third in the Premier League as they prepare for next weekend’s Emirates FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City.

Former Forest striker Teddy Sheringham believes that Nuno Espirito Santo's side can stay within the top five and secure a place in the next season's Champions League.

"Their confidence will be soaring. The opposing teams have little to play for, so I expect they will overpower them with their determination to achieve results," Sheringham remarked.
