New Chandigarh, April 6 (NationPress) Jofra Archer made a remarkable comeback with a Player of the Match (POTM) accolade following his outstanding performance in the Rajasthan Royals’ triumph over Punjab Kings by 50 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Saturday.

The 30-year-old pace bowler faced a challenging start to the season, suffering the most expensive spell in IPL history during his debut match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, giving away 76 runs in just four overs. However, he quickly turned things around by dismissing Shreyas Iyer and Priyansh Arya in the opening over, establishing the groundwork for a memorable win.

Reflecting on his earlier performance, Archer emphasized the importance of enjoying the game regardless of the outcomes.

“At the start of the tournament, such games can occur. What matters most is being able to help the team. On tough days, you must capitalize on the good moments. Enjoy the successful days but also accept the challenging ones. You have to recognize that luck can shift; sometimes, the batters will have the upper hand. Not every day will be perfect, but when you have a good day, cherish it because a bad day might be just around the corner,” Archer stated while receiving his award.

Captain Sanju Samson, who is leading the team for the first time this season after recovering from finger surgery, humorously commented on the effective duo of Archer and Sandeep Sharma, who collectively took five wickets, praising Archer’s impact.

“That’s a lethal combination (Archer and Sandeep), one bowling at 150 km/h and the other at 115 km/h,” Samson joked.

“We all appreciate when he (Archer) bowls quickly. He’s consistently delivered for me over the past four years; he’s among the top fast bowlers in India right now. We had a brief discussion during the timeout, where I reminded the team that they are a quality side and we must remain cautious. Until the last ball is bowled, a win isn’t guaranteed.

“Our emphasis was on the process, and the outcome took care of itself. We took our time to determine the best lineup and combination, while also being mindful of injuries, as this is a lengthy tournament,” he concluded.
