Dhaka, March 8 (NationPress) The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) revealed on Saturday the itinerary for Zimbabwe’s forthcoming Test series in Bangladesh. This two-match Test series is scheduled for April, signifying both teams' return to the longest format of cricket since 2021.

The series will commence with the first Test at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium from April 20-24, followed by the second Test at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from April 28-May 2.

This marks Zimbabwe’s first red-ball tour of Bangladesh in more than four years. The last encounter between the two nations in a Test series was in July 2021, where Bangladesh clinched a decisive 220-run victory in Harare. Additionally, Zimbabwe’s last Test outing in Bangladesh took place in February 2020, with the home side achieving an innings and 106-run win.

After the Test matches, Bangladesh will head to Pakistan for a white-ball series in May, which will include ODIs and T20Is. Both teams have yet to announce their squads for the matches, but these contests are expected to be vital as both countries aim to enhance their red-ball credentials.

Zimbabwe recently returned to red-ball cricket after a defeat in a one-off Test against Ireland in Bulawayo last month, while Bangladesh comes off an impressive comeback, defeating the West Indies in the second Test by 101 runs. This victory marked their first win in the Caribbean since 2009, leveling the series at 1-1.

This victory was also Bangladesh’s first Test triumph in the West Indies since sweeping a depleted Caribbean side 2-0 in 2009.
