Lucknow (UP), Jan 21 (NationPress) Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, batter Riyan Parag, and all-rounder Rahul Tewatia are among the prominent players poised to participate in the forthcoming Shani’s Trophy, set to take place here in February 2025. This tournament promises to present a thrilling combination of retired legends, current Ranji Trophy players, and state-level cricketers, showcasing the pinnacle of Indian cricket talent under one roof.

The Shani’s Trophy will feature 10 competitive teams, engaging in a distinctive 25-over format. Each day will host two matches, one in the morning and another in the afternoon/evening, ensuring continuous action for cricket enthusiasts.

The tournament is set to include a line-up of star players who contribute significant talent and experience to the Shani’s Trophy. At the forefront is Yuzvendra Chahal, India's leading leg-spinner, celebrated for his match-winning performances in white-ball cricket. Accompanying him are Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, IPL sensation Riyan Parag, and Jayant Yadav. Although currently not part of India’s T20I squad, they are all preparing for the upcoming IPL 2025.

Enhancing the event's grandeur, former Indian cricketer and ex-BCCI selector Chetan Sharma has been named the brand ambassador for the Shani's Trophy, as announced by the organizers on Tuesday.

Regarding the tournament, Sumit Shukla, president of Shani's Trophy and managing director of Divya Future Sports, expressed, "We are excited to bring this unique format to fruition in partnership with the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) and the Cricket Association of Lucknow (CAL). With the support of UPCA and CAL, alongside the participation of some of the finest cricketers, our goal is to provide an unforgettable cricketing experience for fans."

The Shani’s Trophy is jointly organized by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) and the Cricket Association of Lucknow, in collaboration with Divya Future Sports. A letter from the Cricket Association of Lucknow addressed to Sumit Shukla confirmed that both UPCA and CAL have granted permission to host the tournament.
