Ahmedabad, May 25 (NationPress) Chennai Super Kings have won the toss and chosen to bat first against Gujarat Titans in match 67 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
Despite being the first team eliminated from playoff contention, Chennai Super Kings have the potential to disrupt Gujarat Titans, who are looking to secure the top position in the standings with a victory.
With nothing to lose for the MS Dhoni-led squad, possibly captaining CSK for the final time, he has encouraged his team to enjoy the game and announced that Ravichandran Ashwin makes way for Deepak Hooda in the playing XI.
“The pitch looks nice and firm, and should remain the same. It’s quite hot, and appears to be a solid track. It requires a lot of maintenance. Chennai has a different kind of heat, more on the slower side. Regardless of the outcome today, we will remain at the bottom. Our focus is to enjoy our cricket. We have one change: Hooda is back. They are a formidable side, known for their authentic cricket. We need to maintain tight bowling lines,” stated CSK captain Dhoni during the toss.
On the opposing side is newly appointed India Test captain Shubman Gill, who recognized the upcoming challenges India will face in England post-IPL. GT has also made one change: Gerald Coetzee has replaced Kagiso Rabada.
“It’s thrilling to take on this captaincy challenge, and we’re looking forward to an exciting series against England. In our last match, we were competitive until the 16th or 17th over. We were inclined to bowl first today, as the wicket looks promising for batting and should remain consistent,” commented Gill.
