Hyderabad, April 18 (NationPress) The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have successfully won the toss and opted to bowl first against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 27th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad this Saturday. Dilshan Madushanka has replaced Harsh Dubey in the SRH lineup, while Matthew Short takes over from Akeal Hosein in the CSK squad.

Currently, SRH is positioned fourth on the points table, having achieved two victories out of five matches. Their season has shown some inconsistency, yet they have secured significant wins against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR). With the advantage of home ground, SRH aims to leverage their recent successes and earn two crucial points.

In contrast, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have found some rhythm after a challenging period that included three consecutive losses. They have bounced back with wins against KKR and Delhi Capitals (DC). Despite this revival, CSK remains in eighth place on the leaderboard and aims to continue their upward trajectory with another solid showing.

After winning the toss, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad commented, "We are choosing to bowl first. The pitch looks good and is unlikely to change much, so our strategy is to chase. It's great to be moving up from the bottom. Since the second match, we've focused on executing the basics correctly. Consistency is key, and Noor's impressive bowling last game was a positive, along with Anshul's effective death bowling. Although it appears to be a good batting surface, we must evaluate it carefully."

Conversely, SRH captain Ishan Kishan expressed, "We would have preferred to bat first. The wicket looks promising, and we aim to set a competitive total. It's important to play for the team rather than individual accolades. We will take each match as it comes, regardless of our current standings, as this tournament is lengthy. I anticipate some movement early on, so our batters must stay vigilant and perform well. Dilshan Madushanka replaces Harsh Dubey to provide more swing at the start."
