Hyderabad, March 23 (NationPress) Following a commanding 44-run victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins believes that the team has established a blueprint for the ongoing tournament.

After being asked to bat first, Ishan Kishan achieved his first IPL century, scoring an impressive 106 not out from 47 deliveries, featuring 11 fours and six sixes. Opener Travis Head contributed a solid 67 runs off 31 balls, peppered with nine fours and three sixes, helping the team reach a total of 286/6, which marks the second-highest score in IPL history.

In response, Rajasthan could only muster 242/6 in their 20 overs, despite half-centuries from Sanju Samson (66) and Dhruv Jurel (70).

Cummins praised wicketkeeper-batter Kishan's performance, noting it was a challenging day for the bowlers. "I wouldn't want to bowl to our boys. Unbelievable. That was scary. It's tough for the bowlers, but when you have such a significant score, anything is possible. We've managed to keep the core of the team intact. Ishan was phenomenal today, playing with freedom. The preparation has been exceptional, and our coaches have been outstanding. The boys have laid out a blueprint for how to approach the rest of the season," Cummins stated in the post-match presentation.

The match was a thrilling display of batting prowess, with a total of 528 runs scored in just 40 overs, making it a difficult day for bowlers in Hyderabad.

In their chase of the daunting target of 287, Rajasthan had a rocky start, losing opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (1), captain Riyan Parag (4), and Nitish Rana (11) within the first five overs. However, impact substitute Sanju Samson and Dhruv Jurel injected momentum into Rajasthan's innings, forming a 111-run partnership for the fourth wicket and keeping the required run rate in sight.

Both players reached their half-centuries in quick succession, with Samson completing his in 26 balls and Jurel in 28. Just when it seemed Rajasthan was taking command, pacer Harshal Patel swung the momentum back to Hyderabad by dismissing Samson (66) in the 14th over.

Shortly after, spinner Adam Zampa removed Jurel for 70, featuring six sixes and five fours, delivering a double blow to RR.

At the conclusion, despite efforts from Shimron Hetmyer and Shubham Dubey, who played aggressively, the side fell short. Hetmyer scored a brisk 42 off 23 balls, while Dubey finished with 34 not out off 11 balls, boasting a striking rate of 309.09 with four sixes and a four.

Ultimately, Rajasthan could only tally 242/6 in their 20 overs, with both Simranjeet Singh and Harshal Patel claiming two wickets each.
