Dan Ashworth Parts Ways with Manchester United as Sporting Director: Report

Manchester, Dec 8 (NationPress) Dan Ashworth has allegedly stepped down from his role as sporting director at Manchester United shortly after a five-month tenure.
Ashworth began his journey with United on July 1 following an extended period of gardening leave from his previous position at Newcastle United.
According to a report by The Athletic, Ashworth's exit was finalized during a meeting with chief executive Omar Berrada at Old Trafford after United's Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday night.
It has been suggested that Jim Ratcliffe played a significant role in the decision to part ways, and the club has stated that "the agreement to conclude Ashworth’s contract was mutual".
During his brief time at the club, Ashworth was associated with a significant spending spree at Old Trafford that amounted to around £200 million (USD 280 million), acquiring players such as Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs De Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui, and Joshua Zirkzee. He was quoted in the announcements of each signing.
