Deccan Gladiators Clinch 9-Wicket Victory Over Bangla Tigers to Claim Top Position in Abu Dhabi T10

Abu Dhabi, Nov 28 (NationPress) The Deccan Gladiators showcased their prowess against the Bangla Tigers by achieving a resounding 9-wicket victory in the ongoing Abu Dhabi T10 tournament, propelling them to the top of the points table at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on Thursday. The Gladiators' bowling attack delivered an exceptional performance, thoroughly outclassing the batting lineup of the Bangla Tigers.

The Tigers began their innings poorly, losing their first wicket for just 10 runs and struggled to recover thereafter. They found themselves in dire straits at 54/6 by the 8th over and ultimately concluded their innings at 72/6 in 10 overs.

Top performances came from Pakistan's Iftikhar Ahmed, who scored 19 runs off 14 balls, and Bangladesh's all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who contributed 16 not out from 23 balls. Afghanistan's Rashid Khan managed 12 not out off 8 deliveries.

The spotlight was on the Deccan bowlers, especially Richard Gleeson, who claimed three wickets for a mere 11 runs over two overs. Sri Lankan spin prodigy Maheesh Theekshana also impressed with figures of 2-21 in his two overs, while Usman Tariq took one wicket for 16 runs.

In response, the Deccan Gladiators lost opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore early for nine runs; however, the dynamic West Indies captain Nicholas Pooran and renowned England player Jos Buttler ensured no further losses. The duo collaborated effectively to steer their team to victory in the sixth over.

Pooran's contribution was significant, finishing with an unbeaten 36 runs off just 13 balls, which included five sixes. Buttler supported him well with a quickfire 29 not out off 13 balls, featuring three sixes and a four.

This victory catapults the Gladiators to the top of the points table, boasting five wins out of six matches and accumulating 10 points. Meanwhile, the Bangla Tigers have fallen to the 8th position with only two victories and four points from six games.
