Mumbai, June 6 (NationPress) In a thrilling clash featuring two of India’s prominent white-ball cricketers, Shreyas Iyer’s SoBo Mumbai Falcons triumphed over Suryakumar Yadav’s Triumphs Knights Mumbai North East by a margin of four wickets in a nail-biting match during Season 3 of the T20 Mumbai League 2025, held at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday.

Choosing to bat first, the Knights faced challenges on a pitch that provided seam movement, managing a score of 145/5 in their allotted 20 overs. After a rocky start and an early exit for Suryakumar (scoring just 1, dismissed by Kartik Mishra), opener Siddhant Adhatrao anchored the innings with a determined half-century. He formed a crucial 46-run partnership with Suryash Shedge before being dismissed by Nikhil Giri. Suryash contributed a rapid 49* off 21 balls alongside Makarand Patil (13*), securing a late burst of runs with an unbeaten 33-run partnership in the closing overs.

The Falcons’ innings started precariously as Hitesh Kadam claimed two quick wickets, dismissing Ishan Mulchandani and Shreyanssh Rai in consecutive deliveries. However, Iyer (13) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi stabilized the innings with a key 54-run partnership before Iyer fell to Parikshit Valsangkar.

Bandra Blasters narrowly defeated Aakash Tigers by just one run in another exciting match. The Blasters, guided by a stellar performance from pacer Dhanit Raut (4-29), managed to secure victory against a determined chase spearheaded by veteran opener Jay Bista.

Chasing a target of 154, the Aakash Tigers faced early setbacks, losing their top four batsmen for a mere 20 runs. Nevertheless, opener Jay Bista fought back valiantly, scoring a brisk 55 off 48 balls, which included four boundaries and two sixes. However, once Dhanit Raut claimed the vital wicket of Bista, the Tigers struggled to maintain the required run rate, finishing at 152/8.

Earlier, the Bandra Blasters, after a shaky beginning, posted a competitive total of 153. Om Keshkamat led the innings with a top score of 40, while Dhrumil Matkar contributed a valuable 33. For the Tigers, left-arm spinner Shams Mulani was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for just 12 runs.

Later in the evening, the Eagle Thane Strikers are set to face off against the MSC Maratha Royals at the D.Y. Patil Stadium, while the ARCS Andheri will go head-to-head with the North Mumbai Panthers in the fourth match of the day at the Wankhede Stadium.
