The Round Table brought together more than 20 top sports manufacturers, notable policymakers, athletes, and academics at the IMT Ghaziabad campus, united by a common objective to tackle challenges, seize opportunities, and envision Uttar Pradesh as a global center for sports goods manufacturing.

The inspiration behind this initiative came from Kanishka Pandey, Head of the Centre for Sports Research at IMT Ghaziabad and Chair of the newly formed FICCI Sports Committee – UP Chapter. Dr. Pandey referred to the Round Table as “a starting point for long-overdue reforms,” emphasizing the necessity for comprehensive policy frameworks, research-supported advocacy, and global competitiveness for the sports goods sector in the state.

Key contributions from Pranav Yadav and Anirban Chatterjee of FICCI, alongside Sujoy Ganguly, a Member of the FICCI Sports Committee, and Amit Gupta, FICCI UP State Head, were crucial in achieving the day's success.

This Round Table marks the first step in a multi-phase initiative that will include white papers, policy documents, industry reports, and ongoing engagement with manufacturers and government entities. The ultimate aim is to align Uttar Pradesh’s industrial capacity with India’s global sporting ambitions.

Through this initiative, IMT Ghaziabad’s Centre for Sports Research reaffirms its leadership in sports-oriented policy advocacy, while the newly established FICCI Sports Committee – UP Chapter heralds a new chapter of proactive and results-driven industry collaboration.
