Former NRL Executive Todd Greenberg Poised to Succeed Nick Hockley as CEO of Cricket Australia: Sources

New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) Former National Rugby League (NRL) executive Todd Greenberg is reportedly on the verge of being announced as the new chief executive of Cricket Australia.
As per the Sydney Morning Herald, the confirmation regarding Cricket Australia’s new chief executive is expected to be made official "as soon as this week". Greenberg, who currently serves as the chief of the Australian Cricketers’ Association, emerged as the successful candidate for this significant role.
Nick Hockley has declared his intention to step down after the upcoming season, concluding nearly 13 years in Australian cricket, including five years in the role of chief executive. He initially took on the role of interim CEO of Cricket Australia in June 2020 and later secured the permanent position eleven months after.
According to sources, "Three candidates made it to the final interview stage during a global search conducted by the recruitment firm Spencer Stuart." The decision regarding Greenberg was finalized by the Cricket Australia board, which is chaired by former NSW premier Mike Baird, on Sunday night.
Hockley will continue in his position until the end of March before officially transferring responsibilities to Greenberg, who has a background working with Cricket NSW prior to his role as chief executive of the Canterbury Bulldogs.
The 53-year-old executive served as the NRL chief executive starting in 2016, a position he maintained for four years. Following his departure from the NRL, he took on his current leadership role within the Australian Cricketers' Association.
