Hangzhou, April 16 (NationPress) Gabonese forward Aaron Bupenza has tragically lost his life after falling from the 11th floor of his apartment in China, as confirmed by the Gabonese Football Federation, FEGAFOOT, on Wednesday. The player, who was part of the China Super League team Zhejiang FC, represented his nation a total of 35 times and left a significant impression during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) held in Cameroon.

"The Gabonese international's passing, following a fall from the 11th floor of his building in China, where he played for Zhejiang FC, has shocked many. At just 28 years old, Boupendza is fondly remembered as a remarkable striker who made headlines during the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

"Having been trained at CF Mounana and Bordeaux in France, the Gabonese striker transitioned to the Chinese league after a brief period in Romania. FEGAFOOT extends heartfelt condolences to his family during this challenging time," stated FEGAFOOT on X.

Boupendza began his professional journey with CF Mounana and later played for clubs across France, Portugal, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United States before joining Zhejiang FC from Romanian team Rapid Bucharest in January.
