Ahmedabad, May 24 (NationPress) The Gujarat Cricket Association has put in place multiple precautionary measures ahead of the afternoon showdown in the Indian Premier League 2025 between Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium due to expected high temperatures and possible heatwave conditions on match day.

Forecasts indicate temperatures may soar between 35-40 degrees Celsius. In a previous afternoon match at this venue on April 19, veteran Indian bowler Ishant Sharma was visibly affected by the harsh conditions, having to leave the field twice during his bowling spells.

“In light of the expected high temperatures and the risk of heatwave conditions on match day, both the Gujarat Titans and the Gujarat Cricket Association have implemented numerous measures to ensure the safety and comfort of fans, staff, and players,” the association stated.

“Public Advisory: Attendees are encouraged to remain hydrated by consuming ample water and to limit their exposure to direct sunlight by avoiding extended periods outdoors.

“These initiatives are designed to reduce the risks associated with extreme heat and to guarantee a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone attending the match,” the Gujarat Cricket Association declared.

As part of the GCA's preparations, two mini-hospitals with four beds each will be established within the stadium. An increased number of medical personnel, including doctors and 108 ambulances, will be available on standby.

Complimentary drinking water will be accessible at various points, including Gate No. 1, Fan Zones 1 and 2, near the Ramada Club Gate, the President Gallery pickup area, and ten designated water stations around the podium.

Mist fans and coolers will be installed throughout different sections of the stadium to help attendees remain comfortable, and free Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) packets will be available at medical counters and distributed by volunteers across the venue.

This match against CSK will mark the Gujarat Titans' last league game of the season. A victory would secure a top two position for the team led by Shubman Gill in the standings and confirm their place in Qualifier 1, set to take place at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium on May 29.
