Manchester, Jan 24 (NationPress) Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Ruben Dias and Jeremy Doku will be unavailable for Saturday's home fixture against Chelsea in the Premier League. Dias had to leave the field at halftime during the recent loss to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), with Guardiola noting that he “didn’t feel good”.

This is a significant setback for the Portuguese defender, who has only played twice since the Manchester derby in mid-December. Doku, who shone in the 6-0 victory over Ipswich Town last weekend, also missed the Paris trip and will not be available for the Chelsea game. They will join Nathan Ake and Rodri on the injury list, while Oscar Bobb continues to work on regaining his fitness after being sidelined for nearly six months.

When queried about the players unavailable for the Chelsea encounter, Pep stated, “We have the same injuries as before. Ruben and Doku are out. The other players remain out.”

Manchester City has been quite proactive in the January transfer window, securing Vitor Reis, Abdukodir Khusanov, and Omar Marmoush within days. Guardiola was also asked if the new signings might be included in the matchday roster on Saturday. “Yes, they can play, but I’m not certain yet. We are short on players.” Regarding Marmoush, he commented, “[He brings] exceptional quality to the team. He’s a future player with quality in the final third, which is why we signed him,” he added.

Egyptian forward Marmoush joined from Eintracht Frankfurt on a four-and-a-half-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2029. The 19-year-old Brazilian youth international Vitor Reis from Palmeiras has also signed a four-and-a-half-year deal, ensuring his stay at City until 2029. Uzbek central defender Khusanov signed a four-and-a-half-year contract with the club from Lens on Monday evening.
