Mumbai, Dec 8 (NationPress) Following six days of relentless Tennis action, the Hyderabad Strikers have emerged as champions of the Tennis Premier League Season. The Strikers triumphed over the Yash Mumbai Eagles with a scoreline of 51-44, marking their third title win.

With exceptional performances across four categories, Harriet Dart, Benjamin Lock, and Vishnu Vardhan ensured their team secured all the accolades in the highly anticipated grand finale.

The final match saw both Yash Mumbai Eagles and Hyderabad Strikers striving for the coveted title. The Strikers kicked off strongly, as Harriet Dart clinched the Women’s Singles match against Zeynep Sonmez of the Eagles with a score of 14-11. Karan Singh leveled the score for the Eagles by winning the Men’s Singles 14-11 against Benjamin Lock.

In a pivotal Mixed Doubles match, the duo of Harriet Dart and Vishnu Vardhan dominated, winning 16-9 against Zeynep Sonmez and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan, placing the Strikers in a favorable position ahead of the final event.

During the Men’s Doubles, Karan Singh and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan attempted to close the gap but ended with a tie of 10-10 against Vishnu Vardhan and Benjamin Lock, ensuring the Strikers finished the league on a high note.

The day commenced with the initial semi-final, featuring league leaders Yash Mumbai Eagles against Sumit Nagal’s Gujarat Panthers. Zeynep Sonmez provided a strong start for her team, winning the Women’s Singles match 14-11 against Ekaterina Kazionova. Sumit Nagal fought back in the Men's Singles, defeating Karan Singh 14-11.

The match shifted momentum during the Mixed Doubles, where Zeynep Sonmez and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan achieved a commanding 16-9 victory against Ekaterina Kazionova and Vijay Sundar Prashanth. In the Men’s Doubles, Karan Singh and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan sealed the match with a 10-9 win over Sumit Nagal and Vijay Sundar Prashanth, propelling the Eagles to the finals with a 51-43 win.

In the second semi-final, the Hyderabad Strikers faced the Rajasthan Rangers for a chance to reach the finals. Harriet Dart initiated the contest with a 14-11 win against Cristina Dinu in the Women’s Singles. The Men’s Singles saw Arthur Fery from the Rangers narrowly win 13-12 against Benjamin Lock.

The Mixed Doubles featured a strong performance by Harriet Dart and Vishnu Vardhan, who triumphed 15-10 over Cristina Dinu and Rohan Bopanna. In the Men’s Doubles, Vishnu Vardhan and Benjamin Lock secured a 10-8 victory against Rohan Bopanna and Arthur Fery. With this win, the Hyderabad Strikers advanced to the finals, defeating the Rajasthan Rangers 51-42 in the second semi-final.
