Khalin Joshi carded a closing five-under 66 on 7 August 2026 to seal a dominant nine-shot victory at the ₹1 crore J&K Open 2026, held at the Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar. The Bengaluru-based golfer finished at 24-under 260 across four rounds, claiming his eighth professional title and second win of the 2026 PGTI season.

Joshi's round-by-round scorecard of 63-66-65-66 was a masterclass in sustained consistency. Delhi's Rashid Khan, a two-time Asian Tour winner, finished runner-up at 15-under 269, while Panipat's Shubham Jaglan — a University of South Florida graduate — posted his best result of the season, finishing third at 14-under 270. Chandigarh's Ajeetesh Sandhu, another former Asian Tour winner, came in fourth at 12-under 272.

PGTI Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, Asian Tour winner Rahil Gangjee, and Angad Cheema of Chandigarh shared fifth place at nine-under 275. Talwar extended his season earnings to ₹82,53,034, consolidating his position atop the rankings.

How Joshi Sealed the Win

Joshi entered the final round carrying a six-shot lead but admitted nerves crept in early. 'I was definitely nervous at the start, especially after missing the first fairway,' he said. 'I began to feel more comfortable by the third hole, and the birdies on the third and fourth put me at ease.'

He went on to add five birdies without a single dropped shot, extending a remarkable bogey-free run to 55 consecutive holes. His closing 66 was his third straight bogey-free round, and across the entire tournament he made just one bogey in 72 holes.

'My game plan was to keep hitting fairways because I knew that would give me enough birdie opportunities,' Joshi said. 'The key was to stay in the present, execute each shot as well as I could and keep thinking positively. Seeing my drives go straight all day was very satisfying.'

Prize Money and Rankings Impact

Joshi collected the winner's cheque of ₹15 lakh and climbed five places in the PGTI Rankings — from 13th to 8th. His total season earnings now stand at ₹34,85,575. The victory follows his four-shot win at the Andhra Open in April, where he finished at nine-under 275, underlining what has been an impressive domestic campaign in 2026.

Joshi on Royal Springs and Golf Tourism

The 33-year-old was effusive about the venue, describing it as one of the most scenic stops on the circuit. 'Royal Springs is unbelievable and offers some of the best views we see all year. It is a stunning golf course, and I hope we can return more often,' he said.

Joshi, visiting Jammu and Kashmir for the fourth time, also made a case for expanding the sport's footprint in the region. He suggested more tournaments, junior programmes, and coaching camps could boost golf tourism and, potentially, position Royal Springs as a future international venue. Notably, the par-4 11th hole was adjusted to a 103-yard par-3 for the tournament, bringing the course par down to 71.

With two titles and rising rankings, Joshi's 2026 season is shaping up as one of the strongest of his professional career — and the second half of the PGTI calendar will reveal whether he can mount a serious challenge to Talwar's Order of Merit lead.
