Gurugram, March 31 (NationPress) International Kabaddi stars are thrilled to participate in the Global Indian Pravasi Kabaddi League (GI-PKL), which is set to commence on April 18 in Gurugram. Athletes from Hungary, Poland, England, and Hong Kong are eager to join this prestigious league in India.
The league has attracted global recognition with teams from countries such as Egypt, Kenya, Argentina, Germany, England, Norway, and Poland participating. The inaugural season of GI-PKL features 12 teams (6 men's and 6 women's teams) and will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network, allowing fans worldwide to tune in.
Numerous international players have expressed their enthusiasm for joining the league, emphasizing their passion for Kabaddi and the chance to compete in India, the home of the sport.
The captain of Poland’s women’s Kabaddi team shared her excitement, commenting, "I’m the captain of the Poland national Kabaddi team, and I am eager to be a part of GI-PKL."

Suresh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Government of Haryana, and former Indian Kabaddi team captain Deepak Hooda, who unveiled the Championship Trophy alongside Kanthi D. Suresh, President of the Holistic International Pravasi Sports Association (HIPSA). HIPSA serves as the administrative body and rights holder for the GI-PKL.
The GI-PKL Championship Trophy symbolizes the pinnacle of competition in the league, adding an extra layer of excitement. While both men’s and women’s teams will have their champions, only one team will be honored with lifting the grand Championship Trophy.
