New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) The president of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), Kapil Dev, unveiled an action-packed calendar for the first half of 2025 at the iconic Delhi Golf Club on Monday.
Golf professionals will engage in 11 consecutive weeks of tournaments at various venues, a notable increase from the nine events held in the same period of 2024.
In an exclusive discussion with IANS, Kapil expressed that enhancing the number of tournaments is a priority during his presidency, aimed at uplifting the standard of golf in India.
“My goal is to expand the tournament roster because for players, this is paramount. While financial incentives are appealing, my focus is to organize more competitions to nurture young talent,” Kapil shared with IANS.
The upcoming tournaments will feature events such as the Tata Steel PGTI Players Championship at Tollygunge Club in Kolkata, Gujarat Open Golf Championship 2025 at Glade One Golf Resort in Ahmedabad, Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship 2025 at Fairway Golf & Lake Resort in Naya Raipur, and several others across India.
These new events also signify the initiation of PGTI's collaboration with the Government of Chhattisgarh. To date, the PGTI has hosted events in 16 states, 2 union territories, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. With the introduction of the Chhattisgarh Open, PGTI expands its presence to 17 states across the nation.
