Have Kerala Blasters Secured Right-Back Amey Ranawade?

Kochi, June 2 (NationPress) Kerala Blasters Football Club has officially announced the acquisition of right-back Amey Ranawade on a five-year contract, securing his services until May 2030. The 27-year-old player transitions from Odisha FC, where he wrapped up the 2024-25 Indian Super League (ISL) season on loan from Mumbai City FC. This marks the Blasters' inaugural signing of the season.

“I am thrilled and honored to be part of Kerala Blasters FC. The enthusiasm surrounding this club has always captivated me, and I genuinely believe in the vision being cultivated here,” stated Ranawade.

“I want to thank the management for their belief in me. This represents a significant opportunity and responsibility to don the Kerala Blasters jersey. I am fully dedicated to giving my all every day to help the team excel,” he added.

Last season, Ranawade made a substantial impact, participating in 22 ISL matches, starting in 18, and accumulating 1,675 minutes on the pitch. His offensive skills were complemented by solid defensive performances, winning 48 duels, executing 20 successful tackles, and achieving 49 recoveries while creating 16 chances.

During the 2023–24 season, he contributed to seven goals from the backline. His speed, endurance, and accurate crosses continually enhanced Odisha’s offensive play while ensuring strong defensive displays. He played a crucial role in Odisha FC’s remarkable journey to the ISL playoffs in 2023-24.

We eagerly anticipate his impact at Kerala Blasters. I hope this season propels him towards the Indian national team,” remarked Sporting Director Karolis Skinkis.

Born in Mumbai, Ranawade honed his skills at the AIFF Elite Academy and made his ISL debut with FC Goa before signing with Mumbai City FC in 2020. He was part of their double-winning squad in 2020-21 and also secured another Shield in 2022–23.

On the international stage, Ranawade represented India at both U-17 and U-19 levels, showcasing his potential early on. He is recognized for his tactical intelligence, ability to anticipate the game, and eagerness to support attacks while maintaining his defensive duties.
