Kim Garth Faces Disciplinary Action for ICC Code Violation

Dubai, Dec 16 (NationPress) Australian cricketer Kim Garth has been officially reprimanded for infringing upon Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the third ODI of the ICC Women’s Championship series against India in Perth on Wednesday. Garth was determined to have violated Article 2.3 of the ICC Code concerning Players and Player Support Personnel, which pertains to the use of an audible obscenity during an International Match.
Furthermore, a demerit point has been added to Garth’s disciplinary record, marking her first offence in a 24-month timeframe.
The incident transpired in the fourth over of India’s innings, when Garth employed inappropriate language following a boundary hit against her.
Garth acknowledged the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by David Gilbert of the Emirates ICC International Panel of Match Referees, negating the necessity for a formal hearing. The on-field umpires, including Claire Polosak, Jacquline Williams, third umpire Eloise Sheridan, and fourth umpire Ashlee Gibbons, were responsible for levelling the charge.
Level 1 breaches entail a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum of 50 percent of a player’s match fee, and the imposition of one or two demerit points.
