Kolkata, March 2 (NationPress) Kolkata Knight Riders, the three-time champions of the Indian Premier League (IPL), have officially carved their place in the night sky by registering three stars, inspired by their motto ‘Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo,’ a Bengali expression meaning ‘Let's do it, fight for it, win it.’

The Knight Riders, a renowned global cricket franchise with a presence across four teams worldwide, have elevated their legacy to a cosmic level by registering three actual stars located in the Gemini constellation. These stars have been officially named to commemorate their title victories in 2012 (Korbo), 2014 (Lorbo), and 2024 (Jeetbo).

The stars were registered on the respective dates marking the franchise's three championship wins: May 27, 2012, June 1, 2014, and May 26, 2024. All three stars were selected from the Gemini constellation, as each of these victories coincides with the Gemini zodiac period.

"The addition of the third star to our emblem brings immense joy this year. KKR has taken its tradition beyond the cricket field and into the cosmos. By registering these three stars in honor of our IPL titles, we have initiated a unique celestial celebration. 'Korbo, Lorbo, Jeetbo' is now not just our guiding principle – it’s literally written in the stars,” stated Binda Dey, Chief Marketing Officer of KKR.

KKR has reached the IPL final four times, clinching the championship on three occasions (2012, 2014, 2024). They were runners-up in the 2021 season, achieving one of the most remarkable comebacks in the tournament's history. The Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) men’s team has secured the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) title four times in a decade since the Knight Riders acquired the franchise, making them the most successful team in the Caribbean. They uniquely won the 2020 trophy without a single defeat throughout the tournament. Additionally, TKR women, the Knight Riders’ inaugural women's squad, won the first-ever WCPL championship in 2022.
