Synopsis
Key Takeaways
London, February 3 (NationPress) Crystal Palace has officially confirmed the acquisition of Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a historic transfer deal valued at £48 million.
The 25-year-old forward, who represents Norway internationally, has committed to a contract lasting four-and-a-half years. He will don the No. 22 jersey for the Eagles and marks the club's third signing during the January transfer period.
"I’m truly thrilled to be joining Crystal Palace. This move has been a long-held aspiration of mine. I aim to infuse the team with energy and goals, and to give my utmost for the club," stated Larsen.
“I believe this is a perfect fit for me and hopefully beneficial for the club as well. I'm focused on delivering energy, goals, and performing at my best. Transitioning to a new club involves several considerations, but my priority is understanding the club's expectations and vision for the future.
“I’m here to hopefully contribute to victories and assist the team in returning to its early-season form, which was remarkable. It’s clear that Palace has the potential to secure a spot in the top half of the table, and I aim to help realize that ambition," he added.
Larsen has spent the previous 18 months with Wolves, following two seasons at Celta Vigo. Adapting seamlessly to English football, he netted 14 Premier League goals in 35 matches during his inaugural season at Molineux in 2024/25.
Chairman Steve Parish expressed, "We are thrilled that Jorgen has decided to continue his remarkable journey with us and we eagerly anticipate witnessing his skills at Selhurst Park. I am confident he will become a valuable asset for years to come."
He debuted for the Norwegian national team in November 2020 and has since become a consistent presence, earning 24 caps and scoring four goals.
