Gurugram, March 11 (NationPress) Rookie Lavanya Jadon capped off her round with a birdie on the final hole, securing the lead at 2-under during the first round of the sixth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour held at the Gary Player-designed DLF Golf & Country Club on Tuesday.

Lavanya’s performance included five birdies and three bogeys, finishing the round with a score of 70.

Currently leading the Order of Merit, Sneha Singh had a promising start, reaching four-under through 13 holes. However, her momentum faltered as she encountered a challenging stretch, bogeying four consecutive holes from the 14th to the 17th.

This unfortunate turn of events led her to an even-par score, but a birdie on the final hole allowed her to finish at 1-under, tying for second with Anvvi Dahhiya, who completed her round over an hour earlier.

Sneha’s round featured an impressive eagle on the Par-4 second hole, achieved with her second shot, marking the only eagle of the day. Overall, she recorded six birdies, one eagle, five bogeys, and a double bogey.

Anvvi Dahhiya, a talented amateur, had a strong showing with five birdies and four bogeys, finishing one stroke behind at 1-under 71.

Vani Kapoor, seeking a third consecutive win after triumphing in the previous legs, concluded her round with an even-par 72, featuring birdies on the ninth and fourteenth holes. Ironically, she lost strokes on the Par-5s, specifically the eighth and eighteenth holes, placing her in fourth.

Lavanya's round included birdies on the second, sixth, tenth, twelfth, and eighteenth holes, with dropped shots on the Par-4 fifth, eleventh, and fourteenth.

Sneha's scorecard reflected an eagle on the second and birdies on the fourth, eighth, ninth, twelfth, and thirteenth holes. However, she also faced challenges with a double bogey on the Par-3 fifth and four consecutive bogeys starting from the 14th.
