The rifle division has attracted the highest number of entries, with 7013 participants across various classifications, while the pistol nationals will feature 5672 competitors vying for the esteemed title of national champion.

This championship will be crucial for all participants, as the scores achieved will play a significant role in selecting the Indian team for the 2025 international season.

A total of 40 teams will represent various states, union territories, armed forces, and public institutions such as ONGC and Railways at the 67th Shooting Nationals.

Expressing his views ahead of the competition, Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo, president of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), remarked, “We are thrilled with the increasing popularity of shooting in the country, which has led to such record participation in the nationals. Our consistent international success, especially at the Paris Olympics earlier this year where we secured a record three bronze medals, has certainly influenced these numbers.”

Also expressing excitement, K. Sultan Singh, Secretary General of NRAI, stated, “Our next Olympic champions and medallists will likely emerge from these nationals. Indian shooting now carries an even greater responsibility to excel on the global stage, and the enthusiasm and talent among the rising youth gives us confidence that we will elevate the sport to new heights.”
