Masters Day Glory: Gusti Noria Shines at the Shooting Nationals

New Delhi, Dec 13 (NationPress) Gusti Noria of Telangana showcased his exceptional skills by winning gold on Masters Day at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi, where the Skeet events for the 67th National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) are currently in progress.
Gusti, whose son Asher was the junior double trap world champion in 2010, achieved a remarkable score of 47 in the 60-shot Men Senior Masters Skeet shooting final, leaving Tamil Nadu’s Rajah Rajgopal Tondaiman trailing five shots behind for the silver medal. Punjab’s Rupinder Sandhu took home the bronze, finishing with 34 hits.
Initially, Gusti ranked fifth in the qualification round, scoring 89. Rupinder excelled, dominating the field with an impressive 98 hits to secure the top position, while Tondaiman followed closely with 97 hits. However, Gusti elevated his performance significantly in the final, winning decisively.
“Winning a gold always gives you a wonderful feeling. Something to take back and show my shooting-loving family,” Gusti expressed following the medal ceremony.
In the Super Masters category, Rajpal Singh Kocchar from Chhattisgarh clinched gold with a score of 81 after five rounds. Delhi’s Harinder Singh Bedi secured second place with 78 hits, while Baljit Singh Jaiswal of Himachal Pradesh finished third with a score of 77.
As the Skeet qualifications continue, the women’s pistol qualifications are set to commence at the same venue starting Saturday, with official pre-event training wrapping up on that day.
