National Shooting Championships: Darius Secures Senior Master Trap Title in Tense Shoot-Off Against Nabi

New Delhi, Jan 9 (NationPress) Former national champion Darius Chenai of Telangana successfully held off Nabi Iqbal from Uttar Pradesh in a shoot-off (1-0) to earn the Senior Master men’s trap title at the National Shooting Championship Competitions (NSCC) for shotgun events at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range.
The two competitors were tied with 37 hits each in the 50-shot final. The bronze medal was claimed by former seven-time national champion and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Moraad Ali Khan from UP, who finished with a score of 23 in the final.
Prior to the final, Nabi posted a remarkable score of 98 during qualification, leading a six-man lineup into the championship round. Darius qualified in third place with 94 hits, while Moraad secured the fourth qualifying position with 93. In total, 16 shooters participated in the senior master competition.
The trap event will mark the conclusion of the 67th Shooting Nationals, which has showcased numerous new champions and national records since it commenced last December, with the pistol and shotgun events conducted in Delhi and the rifle events held in Bhopal.
