Key Takeaways
Lucknow, Feb 24 (NationPress) The Lucknow Super Giants have officially revealed their redesigned logo in anticipation of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday.
The new logo showcases the Garuda, a crown, and an elephant, marking a transition from the previous blue color scheme to a striking red, aligning with the franchise's refreshed identity. The design shares similarities with the logo of the Manchester Super Giants, which also features an elephant paired with a distinctive winged motif.
Prior to LSG's logo update, the Manchester Originals underwent a rebranding to become the Manchester Super Giants, following the acquisition of a substantial 70 percent stake by the Sanjiv Goenka Group. The new emblem for The Hundred team, revealed on January 26, displayed a prominent elephant head adorned with a crown in red, white, and gold hues.
"Today, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) introduce a new logo. This is not merely a design update or a fresh look; it symbolizes the essence of this city, this state, and the unwavering support of every fan who has stood by us since the beginning," stated the franchise in a press release.
"This emblem combines three significant symbols: the Garuda, the Crown, and the Elephant, each narrating a story deeply rooted in Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh," they further explained.
Shashwat Goenka, the owner of the Lucknow Super Giants, elaborated on the significance of the elements in the new logo.
“This logo holds profound emotional value for us. The people of Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh embraced the Super Giants wholeheartedly from day one. This symbol serves as a tribute to that love and faith. The Garuda signifies our aspirations to soar higher. The Crown represents the pride you instill in us whenever we step onto the field. The Elephant embodies the strength and loyalty characteristic of this region,” he expressed in the release.
“This is not simply a change in identity; it is a commitment. A commitment that we will honor this city, respect our heritage, and compete with passion. Every run, every wicket, every moment will resonate with our fans’ emotions,” he added.
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have built a formidable squad ahead of the season, led by Rishabh Pant, with key players like Nicholas Pooran, Mohammed Shami, and Mitchell Marsh adding invaluable experience and depth as they aim to secure their first IPL trophy with a new logo.
