The USD 4,000,000 event, co-sanctioned with the Professional Golf Tour of India, marks the largest prize fund ever offered for a DP World Tour event on Indian soil.

Star-Studded Field for Second Edition

The American duo joins a formidable lineup for the tournament's second edition. Defending champion Tommy Fleetwood, Career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy, and 2026 Open Champion Ryan Fox are all confirmed to tee off. Major winners Shane Lowry and Justin Rose, European Ryder Cup Captain Luke Donald, and Ryder Cup star Viktor Hovland will also return to the event. Min Woo Lee, a winner on both the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour, will make his India Championship debut. Indian hopes rest on Shubhankar Sharma and Anirban Lahiri, who are expected to draw strong support from home fans.

Reed Chasing Race to Dubai Glory

Reed, who claimed his first Major at Augusta National in 2018, currently leads the season-long Race to Dubai Rankings and is targeting his first Race to Dubai title. The three-time Ryder Cup representative arrives in Delhi on the back of a strong run — he secured his first Rolex Series title at the Dubai Desert Classic in January before following it up with a victory at the Qatar Masters two weeks later, making Delhi potentially his third win of the season.

'I really enjoy playing all over the world and I'm looking forward to teeing it up in the India Championship for the first time. It looks like a great event and field, and it comes at an important time in the season, so I'm excited to see what we can do in Delhi,' Reed said.

Watson Makes Delhi Debut

Two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson — who claimed the Green Jacket in 2012 and 2014 — will visit Delhi Golf Club for the first time. The left-hander, who boasts 15 career victories, expressed enthusiasm about the prospect.

'It's always fun to play in new events and this is one that I was happy to be able to add to my schedule. I've heard that Delhi Golf Club is a great test, and golf fans in India are very passionate, so I'm looking forward to the week,' Watson said.

Race to Dubai Context and What's Next

The India Championship will be the eighth of nine events in the Back 9 phase of the 2026 Race to Dubai, making it a pivotal stop on the road to the season-ending DP World Tour Play-Offs. The campaign culminates in the DP World Tour Championship in November at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai. With the Race to Dubai title still very much in play, the Delhi edition is expected to attract heightened competitive intensity from the world's top-ranked players.
