This two-day conference, taking place at Kanha Shanti Vanam, will gather sports ministers from different States/UTs, senior sports officials, government representatives, and industry experts to share insights and develop a strategic plan for establishing India as a dominant force in sports.
The discussions will center around improving sports governance, identifying grassroots talent, developing infrastructure, promoting inclusivity, and encouraging partnerships.
Under the leadership of Minister Mandaviya, who is driving Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for enhancing India's sports framework, there will be strategic conversations with stakeholders about the nation’s Olympic aspirations and fortifying the sports ecosystem. State representatives will showcase their successful practices and innovative strategies during the Chintan Shivir.
“The main objectives of the Chintan Shivir include: an overview of various Government of India schemes and coordination with States/UTs, partnership with corporates for Sports Development & Infrastructure, talent identification and nurturing grassroots talent, promoting good governance in sports, expanding Khelo India & Fit India, encouraging inclusivity in sports, and ensuring the welfare of sportspersons and coaches,” the Sports Ministry stated in a release.
Highlighting the importance of a cooperative and results-driven mindset, Mandaviya remarked, “The achievements of Indian athletes at the recent Uttarakhand National Games demonstrate our vast potential. Our objective is unequivocal: to attain Olympic excellence and establish India as a global sports powerhouse. By exchanging ideas and best practices, we can create a structured and sustainable sports framework. Hosting the Olympics is a national goal, and we must advance together.”
A crucial topic during the discussions will be the utilization of insights from former athletes.
