Marquino Mindley and Jediah Blades Join West Indies ODI Squad Against Bangladesh

Basseterre (St Kitts), Dec 6 (NationPress) Fast bowlers Marquino Mindley and Jediah Blades have been called up to the West Indies squad for the three-match ODI series against Bangladesh.
The pair have taken the place of Matthew Forde and Shamar Joseph, who have been dealing with injuries and have withdrawn from the team.
According to a statement from Windies Cricket, the medical team conducted further assessments and concluded that Forde needs to continue his rehabilitation from a persistent thigh injury. Moreover, Joseph is experiencing shin splints following the recent Test series and will be under the watch of the medical staff as they prepare for future games.
Mindley achieved the distinction of being the leading wicket-taker among fast bowlers in the Super 50 Cup 2024, which earned him his first call-up. Blades, representing the West Indies Academy, captured 14 wickets in the regional tournament, resulting in his inaugural selection to the squad.
All three ODIs against Bangladesh will take place in St Kitts & Nevis, with the opening match scheduled for December 8, followed by additional matches on December 10 and December 12.
