Mumbai, Aug 14 (NationPress) Approximately 2000 volleyball players, representing top CBSE Schools from Maharashtra, Goa, Daman, Diu, and Dadra Nagar Haveli, are set to gather in Mumbai for the CBSE Cluster IX Volleyball Tournament. This prestigious event will be held at MVM International School in Andheri from August 20 to 22.
The matches will take place across five indoor courts at the Andheri Sports Complex, as well as on the MVM International School premises.
The Mogaveera Vyavasthapaka Mandali (MVM) – Mumbai, a well-regarded educational institution known for its commitment to community service, education, and cultural preservation, is proud to host this significant event, marking the first time it is held in Mumbai.
This year, more than 2000 students from Maharashtra, Goa, Daman, Diu, and Dadra Nagar Haveli - the CBSE Cluster IX zone - have registered on the CBSE portal for volleyball, making this one of the most important regional school sporting events of the year. The decision by CBSE to select MVM International School to host such a high-caliber competition reflects the Board’s confidence in the school's management and its capability to organize events at the highest professional standards.

The defending champions in the Under-19 category for boys and girls, Defence Career Academy from Chhatrapati Shambhaji Nagar and Millennium School from Pune, will be leading the competition. Among the other contenders are last year’s runners-up: Amrita Vidyalayam from Navi Mumbai in the boys' division and Atma Malik International from Shirdi in the girls' division.
The local challenge will feature schools such as Bal Bharati Public School, Holy Angels School, Mar Thoma Vidyapeeth, New Horizon Public School, Sanskar Public School, St. Thomas School, and Tilak Public School, all from Thane. Matches will be conducted in a knock-out format.
