Bhucho (Punjab), Sep 6 (NationPress) In an impressive display of skill, Asian champion Neeru Dhanda and Asian silver medalist Bhowneesh Mendiratta have firmly established their positions at the forefront as they strive to secure a place among the top six. This comes after the completion of four rounds in the Trap event at the National Selection Shotgun Trial (T4), taking place at the Bhai Devinder Singh Sidhu Gun Club in Bhucho, Punjab.
Bhowneesh, having achieved a remarkable score of 99, which included three flawless rounds of 25 and a fourth round of 24, holds a four-shot advantage over World Cup final silver medalist Vivaan Kapoor and Zoravar Singh Sandhu, both of whom have scored 95. Shardul Vihaan and Kynan Darius Chenai follow closely with scores of 93, while seven other shooters, including Arshad Hasan Khan, Fahd Sultan, Karan, Shapath Bharadwaj, Ali Aman Elahi, Jaswinder Singh, and Lakshay Sheoran, are vying for the sixth position with scores of 92.
In the Trap Women category, Neeru secured the lead with a score of 92, achieving rounds of 22, 24, 23, and 23. Aashima Ahlawat, a bronze medalist at the Asian Championship, follows in second place with 90, while Kirti Gupta, Rajeshwari Kumari, and Sabeera Haris are tied with a score of 89. Preeti Rajak currently sits in sixth place with 86.
