New Delhi, July 27 (NationPress) Injured seam-bowling all-rounder from India, Nitish Kumar Reddy, has firmly dismissed speculations regarding his departure from Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a different franchise, asserting that he will always remain loyal to his current team.
Earlier, rumors surfaced suggesting that Reddy was considering leaving the franchise due to his position in the lineup, particularly after he was moved down the batting order to make space for Heinrich Klaasen at the number four spot.
“I usually distance myself from the outside chatter, but some matters require clarification. My bond with SRH is founded on trust, respect, and years of mutual passion. I will always support this team,” Reddy expressed on his ‘X’ account on Sunday.
As the mega auction for IPL 2025 approaches, the Visakhapatnam native was retained by SRH for INR six crore. This decision followed Reddy's impressive performance in IPL 2024, where he scored 303 runs across 13 matches and took three wickets, earning him a spot in the Indian T20I and Test squads.
However, Reddy's performance in IPL 2025 was less stellar, with only 182 runs in 13 games, and limited bowling opportunities due to a recovery phase from a side strain that sidelined him after the first T20I against England earlier this year.
Currently, Reddy is recuperating at home after suffering a left knee injury while training at a gym in Manchester, which has ruled him out of the ongoing Test series against England.
On a different note, Reddy is facing legal issues as his previous talent management company, Square The One, has filed a petition against him for unpaid dues amounting to INR 5 crore under Section 11(6) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act. This petition, which accuses Reddy of breaching a management agreement, is set to be heard in the Delhi High Court on Monday.
